From Adelaide CBD travel 50 minutes down the freeway to the Monarto Zoo.
The Monarto Zoo is the largest open-range zoo in the world and is home to more than 500 animals and 50 exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles.
After an enjoyable day exploring head back on to the freeway, a short 30 minute drive is the historic town of Hahndorf.

Established in 1912 d’Arenberg Wines Enjoy one of their Masterclasses on offer like the Blending Bench where you play the winemaker. Whilst there you can also enjoy lunch at d’Arry’s Verandah Restaurant with breathtaking views overlooking the rolling hills of McLaren Vale.

Shaw & Smith winery open 7 days a week offers a wine flight experience, for $15 per person enjoy 4 Shaw & Smith wines accompanied by a cheese sampler plate.
A leisurely hour drive away is Australia’s most famous wine region the Barossa Valley. With over 170 wine companies and a wine history starting in 1842.
Start your Barossa morning at Maggie Beers Farm shop tasting all of her delicious products, you can also enjoy a coffee and cake overlooking the lake. Just down the road is Two Hands cellar door that offers visitors an intimate and informative wine tasting experience. There is a tasting fee of $5 per person with a small tasting plate is served and the money is donated to their selected charity the Uganda Project.
Artisans of Barossa is located at the bottom of Menglers Hill Lookout, a great view of the Barossa region. Home to seven small likeminded wine producers, the tasting room is open from 11am to 6pm every day. Also at Artisans of Barossa is the Harvest Kitchen, renowned for its long lunch culture and their “Feed me like a Barossan” menu.
As you enter Nuriootpa is the world famous Penfolds Winery, here you can learn how to make your own blend and also enjoy a taste of Grange.
After a glorious day in the Barossa head back to your accommodation.
